We started as a web agency in 2012. Our experience of building digital services for Swedish organisations became the foundation of today's product company and shared platform.
From web agency to product platform.
Tekapo was founded in 2012 by Karl-Erik Wångstedt as a web and design agency in Hälsingland. Through assignments for Swedish organisations and companies, we built up experience of business-critical digital services. Over time we saw the same technical foundation solving the same problems again and again: secure login, payments, permissions and operations.
Today Tekapo is a platform. On top of it we build four products: Tekapo Fastighet, Tekapo Access, Tekapo Utskick and Barkassan. Each product has its own industry character, but they share the same security model, the same payment engine and the same operations.
That means we can go deep in one industry without starting from scratch, and that a customer who starts with one system can easily add the next.
Tekapo, Wångstedt nova and Makwi.
Tekapo is a trading name of Wångstedt nova AB (Reg. no. 556857-7422) in Bollnäs. Wångstedt nova AB is a sister company of Makwi AB (Reg. no. 559526-3103), which develops industry systems for slaughterhouses, associations and ticket scanning, among others: Makwi Slakt, Makwi Medlem and Makwi Incheckning.
Makwi's systems are built on the Tekapo platform. It is the same login, the same payment engine and the same licence management as in our own products. You can find out more about the founder at wangstedt.com.

Build in depth
General-purpose business systems miss the nuances. We would rather pick four industries we truly understand than forty we guess at.
Long-term operation
Business systems should still work in ten years. We choose proven technology and say no to hype that does not pass the test of time.
Swedish conditions
Everything, from Swish payment flows to Swedish ways of working, is made for Sweden and not translated from an American template.
