Tekapo Utskick

Newsletters and SMS – via your own iPhone.

A Mac bridge sends SMS mailings through your iPhone, from your own number. Email is sent through the organisation's own SMTP server. Everything is managed in the same web app.

The problems

What you can leave behind.

Expensive SMS services with a markup per message
Messages from unfamiliar numbers that nobody replies to
Newsletters in one tool, SMS in another and lists in a third
Uncertainty about what was actually sent and what went wrong
The solution

Email and SMS – one system.

Newsletters

Build email mailings with blocks for heading, text, image, button and columns. Use templates and recipient variables, and schedule the mailing.

SMS via your iPhone

A Mac bridge sends SMS through the Messages app and your iPhone. Messages go out from your own number on your regular plan.

iMessage when possible

The Messages app sends as iMessage to recipients who have it, and as regular SMS to everyone else.

One mailing per channel

You choose the channel for each mailing. Email and SMS are written separately, because the content differs.

Lists and import

Import recipients from CSV or Excel, with column mapping, duplicate checking and custom fields. Send to the whole register or selected lists.

Status and unsubscribing

Follow each mailing: handed over, failed or uncertain. Marketing messages get an unsubscribe link and blocks are respected.

Frequently asked questions

Answers to what people usually ask.

How do the SMS mailings work?

Tekapo Utskick uses a bridge on your Mac that sends SMS through the Messages app and your iPhone. Messages go from your own number and cost whatever your plan costs. No markup from us.

Why do I need a Mac and an iPhone?

SMS and iMessage are sent by Apple's Messages app. The bridge on the Mac controls it, and the iPhone handles the SMS part.

Is iMessage supported?

Yes. The Messages app decides for each recipient whether the message goes as iMessage or as regular SMS. Tekapo Utskick does not add its own fallback on top of this.

Will I know whether an SMS has arrived?

You can see whether the message has been handed over to the Messages app. That is not a delivery receipt. Uncertain attempts are clearly marked and are never resent automatically.

Who in the association can send?

You control that with roles. The licence owner can always send, and more users can be given write permission.

Can you import our contact lists?

Yes. You upload CSV or Excel files, check the column mapping and review duplicates before the import is carried out.

What does it cost?

Monthly subscription. Prices and periods are shown when you buy a licence in the app. SMS costs only what your mobile operator charges.
